Daydream

Google Announces Daydream VR

Have you ever taken a look at the Google Cardboard and said something along the lines of "That's pretty cool, but I wish it looked like someone glued fabric all over it, and included an Amazon Fire TV remote control?" Then you're in luck! The Daydream VR is the latest attempt at Google trying to stop Samsung from being the only company anyone in the Android space cares about. It's pretty much an uglier Gear VR. It also includes a remote! Wow! Like the Gear VR, the Daydream VR only officially works with certain phones—but unlike the Gear VR, Google's phones don't currently exist—their Pixel phones are the first to be compatibile with the headset and they're not out yet. That's in stark contrast to the Gear VR, which is compatible with the past two revisions of phones from the most popular phone company in the world.

Way to go, Google.

Farming Sim

Farming Simulator 17 Will Have Mods On Console

Bethesda made news a while back when they announced that console players would be able to play Fallout 4 mods just like PC players. Not one to be left behind, Giants Software—developer of hit game series Farming Simulator—has announced that PS4 and Xbox One players will be able to play Farming Simulator 17 mods from the get go. The way this will work is that Giants Software will do the work of reviewing and porting each mod to the consoles, meaning that only a subset of PC mods will be available to play. Hey, it's something!

Infinite Warfare

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Needs Infinite Warfare Disc To Play

Back in May, when Activision announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, they made themselves immediately unpopular by stating that you needed to purchase one of the special editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare to play it. It seemed like a dumb decision at the time, and it still seems like a dumb decision now, but hey, it's their money they're losing. Anyways, it turns out that if you were planning on buying Infinite Warfare just to play Modern Warfare Remastered, you're going to need to keep that Infinite Warfare disc around: you need it in the console to play Modern Warfare Remastered. This is probably to stop people from buying the game, taking the free copy of Modern Warfare Remastered, and returning the game—but what if you lose the disc? What if the disc gets so scratched it won't read anymore? Here's an idea, Activision—feel free to steal it, I don't mind—what if you published the game on a separate disk that people could buy on its own? You wouldn't even have this problem.

Oh, by the way—it's 130GB total. Have fun!

No Man's Sky

No Man's Sky Subreddit Shut Down, Then Re-Opened

Though the game was released two months ago, people still love to hate No Man's Sky. In fact, they love to hate it so much that the head moderator of the No Man's Sky subreddit shut it down, stating that it had become "a hate filled wastehole" and that the site lacks appropriate moderator tools. And remember, this is Reddit, so if something has become so shitty that even a redditor thinks it's hate-filled, you know something's gone wrong. Of course, the people in the No Man's Sky subreddit reacted just how you'd expect, and their loud screams attracted a Reddit admin who restored the subreddit. Everything is back to normal!

The Escapists

The Escapists 2 Coming Soon

Remember The Escapists? It seems like just yesterday it was a new indie Early Access game—and yet here we are, almost two million sales and an ill-advised Walking Dead spinoff later, talking about its sequel: The Escapists 2. New features: it's got multiplayer, some more polished graphics (that are still pixel art, because of course they are), new items to craft, new ways to escape, and the ability to play as a woman. For some reason that wasn't an ability you had in the first game.
