Fallout 4 Modders Creating New Campaign Set In Seattle
A group of modders are developing a mod for Fallout 4 titled Fallout Cascadia, which is a separate campaign set in Seattle, said to be "just a bit smaller than Fallout 3." Modders are crazy. I don't know why you'd put so much effort into the equivalent of a blockbuster AAA game that sold millions of copies, and then release it for free. Even if you're doing it just to try to get a job at a game company, why not just develop a real game, sell it, and then try applying for a job? Just a thought. Anyways, this mod looks pretty cool. It's estimated to take "several years," which is not a very solid prediction.
Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location Announced
There's a new Five Nights at Freddy's game in development. It's set in a different location than the previous four games—a sort of "sister location," if you will. So, of course, this new game is called Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location! Anyways, I can't tell you anything about the plot of this game, other than that it's got animatronics. It's set to be released "this autumn," which probably means that it'll be set to come out on Halloween, which probably means that it'll be released at some point in September.
Paradox Removes Stellaris Mod That Makes All Humans White
I don't know what it is about Paradox's grand strategy games, but there seem to be an inordinate amount of neo-Nazis and white supremacists in their fanbase. And when such people are forced to play as humans who aren't white, well, you can guess how well that goes down! A modder by the name "Lord Xel" created a mod that removed all non-European humans from the game. Paradox thought that it wasn't good to have a mod encouraging such antisocial elements on the Steam Workshop for their game, so they removed it. You may think I'm making a jump by calling the creator of this mod a neo-Nazi or white supremacist, or by stating that this is the reason that Paradox removed the mod. Well, Paradox says that they removed the mod because "the creator...decided to update the description of the mod to promote an 'agenda' not related to computer games at all, and this was being clearly displayed on our product page. We decided it was a step too far and removed it." The creator of the mod responded by saying that this was "Paradox's ideological pushing" and an "inquisition," calling Paradox the "Stasi", that they are "gulaging the comment section," and that they have been sent into an "irrational fit of lies." I feel pretty safe in my categorization of this guy.
Minecraft for Consoles Getting New Gamemode, Paid Map Packs
You know what I'm always looking for in my procedurally-generated sandbox construction games? The lack of any of those features! Minecraft—but only the versions on consoles—is getting a new gamemode called "Battle," in which—as you might guess—you battle other players. But not in procedurally generated maps—oh no, that would be too obvious. Instead, you battle players in pre-made maps, which you can purchase in map packs for $2.99. This is exactly what Minecraft needed to stay relevant in a world of changing tastes.
Blizzard Removing Overwatch Porn From the Internet
Come on, you know it exists. You've probably seen it around. Overwatch, like every other piece of media, has fan-made porn on the internet. And Blizzard knows this too! An Overwatch porn producer posted a DMCA takedown request they received on Reddit for their masterpiece of Source Film Maker erotica, Crossing Worlds—Tracer, Widowmaker, Liara [FUTA]. As far as I know, the legality of this is pretty fuzzy. I doubt there's really a precedent for this, since how many people want to show up and argue their case for animated video porn in front of a judge in a real courtroom?
Mirror's Edge TV Series In Production
With the new Mirror's Edge in production, EA's looking for other ways to cash in on the franchise. Their latest attempt: a Mirror's Edge television series, described as a "female-centered action series." That's good, because if it wasn't a female-centered action series, that would be a very weird way to adapt Mirror's Edge into a TV show. This is being produced by Endemol Shine Studios, a company known for such driving showcases of female-centered action as MasterChef, Big Brother, and The Biggest Loser. That's a good sign!
